This Hansel & Gretel Theatre is an utterly bewitching illustrated toy theatre that recreates the story of Hansel & Gretel, as they are tempted into the Wicked Witch’s beautiful gingerbread house!
This fully playable toy theatre comes complete with a proscenium, stage, six backcloths, two side wings, 14 characters/props, and a Benjamin Pollock’s Toyshop curtain. The eerie, somewhat grisly tale is told in an entertaining script written by the artist, accompanied by an additional mini theatre poster for ‘Jury Lane’. The theatre requires cutting and sticking to set up using scissors or a craft knife for maximum precision.
The Pollock’s Hansel & Gretel Theatre features design and artwork by Welsh artist Clive Hicks-Jenkins, whose love of toy theatres has proved a lifelong inspiration for his successful career, which has also encompassed choreography, puppetry and theatre design. He brings this dedication and creativity to this creation for Benjamin Pollock’s Toyshop.
Size: The set is A6-sized when flat and opens up into a 9.5 x 19 x 26 cm (3.74 x 7.48 x 10.24 inches) theatre.
