Emily Martin now makes it so you can give her incredible work to a deserving recipient as a greeting card… or keep it for yourself to frame… we won’t judge!
She says about this portrait, “I created this image after I got a bee in my bonnet about the notion of a girl playing the banjo in the middle of the woods. A stag, bear, fox, rabbit, squirrel and owl are gathered ’round to hear her song.
The whole time I was working on this painting, I kept thinking she was singing/playing them the Burl Ives song Buckeye Jim. I feel almost certain that’s what she’s playing, there among the animals and the lily-of-the-valley.”
